Mistis is a joint team of INRIA Grenoble - Rhône-Alpes and the LJK laboratory, a joint research unit of the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG), the Université Joseph Fourier (UJF) and Université Pierre-Mendès-France (UPMF).
Our aim is to develop statistical methods for applications in image analysis and signal processing, and particularly for biological and medical applications. Our main research topics are mixture models, Markovian models and non-parametric methods. We mainly focus on two directions of research. 1) How to deal with complex phenomenons, complex models and complex data. We propose to use structured models and methods allowing easy interpretations. We propose to develop model selection and approximation techniques for complexe structure models and to study dimension reduction techniques based on non linear data analysis. 2) The theoretical and practical behaviour of methods. We focus on approximations justifications, asymptotic behaviour and convergence analysis.- Research project activity report (html): [2006], [2007], [2008], [2009], [2010], [2011], [2012], [2013], [2014].
